The Media and Public Relations Division of the College of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Unit and the Continuous Education Unit, organized a workshop on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day and the annual Integrity Week. The workshop was titled “University Laws and Their Impact on Combating Administrative Corruption” and was presented by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Munam Khamees Mukhlif, and Mr. Haitham Ayed Hadi from the Integrity Commission, under the sponsorship and presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Amera Mohammed Saleh, and several faculty members and students.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The workshop addressed several topics that discussed the relationship between the employee and the institution in terms of rights and duties on one hand, and administrative penalties on the other hand. Dr. Munam emphasized the significant importance of university laws, as they affect a large segment of employees, covering anyone with an employee status, in addition to the penalties, guarantees, and procedures preceding the imposition of penalties.<\/span><\/h3>\n

On the other hand, Mr. Haitham confirmed that the phenomenon of administrative and financial corruption is widespread and takes on extensive dimensions. Various factors contribute to this phenomenon, including political, financial, administrative, and ethical corruption. He pointed out that several factors, such as the weakening of freedom of participation and democratic practice, contribute to the prevalence of this phenomenon.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with methods to reduce administrative corruption and highlight the role of legal legislations adopted by the senior administration to mitigate this phenomenon. Additionally, it aimed to discuss the reasons leading to its spread in society.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
