In the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, the defense of the master’s thesis titled “Detection of Sensitivity of Some Varieties of Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) to Infection with Seed Rot and Seedling Death Disease and its Biological Control” was conducted by the student Hussain Sadiq Musa from the Plant Protection Department.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study aimed to identify the causes of seed rot and seedling death disease in Roselle plants, test the sensitivity of some Roselle varieties to infection with seed rot and seedling death disease, and provide a method for resistance to the causes of seed rot and seedling death disease in Roselle plants using environmentally safe materials to reduce the risks of disease infection and minimize the resulting losses.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The researcher recommended the use of disease-resistant varieties as an effective means of controlling the disease, treating the soil planted with Roselle seeds with biological agents (NAA) or B.subtilis or T.harzianum or their combination during cultivation to reduce or mitigate the incidence of seed rot and seedling death disease, adopting integrated disease control programs for seed rot and seedling death disease, with one of its elements being biological control agents such as B.subtilis or T.harzianum, and investigating other biological factors to assess their efficiency in reducing the incidence of seed rot and seedling death disease. Additionally, introducing biological resistances with NAA in the preparation of a safe natural pesticide for prevention or control of seed rot and seedling death disease.<\/span><\/h3>\n
