A defense of a Master’s thesis titled “The Effect of Air Velocity in the Evaporative Cooling System for Storing Two Types of Crops under Different Conditions” was conducted at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, by the student Ahmed Adnan Najm in the Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study aimed to preserve the quality of agricultural products by storing them under suitable temperature and humidity conditions, extending the shelf life of agricultural products, delivering them in good condition to consumers and grocery stores, as well as using evaporative cooling for storing agricultural products.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The researcher recommended conducting further studies using lower velocities than the first one, storing different crops to measure the storage life for each, using packaging and assessing its impact on storage life, creating advisory leaflets in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Trade and distributing them to farmers and grocery store owners to illustrate the required storage temperatures for different crops, as well as working on finding a sustainable source to supply the cooling system with electrical power.<\/span><\/h3>\n
