The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, as part of the activities of the Plant Protection Department during its cultural season, organized a discussion session led by the master’s student Alaa Emad Mahmoud, entitled “Induced Systemic Resistance by Beneficial Microbes.”<\/span><\/h3>\n

The session was chaired by Dr. Radi Fadel Al-Jassani, the head of postgraduate studies. The aim of the session was to focus on the molecular processes at the interface between plant roots and exchangeable elements that induce ISR (Induced Systemic Resistance), and on the progress made in our understanding of ISR signals and systemic defense preparation. The central role of the root transcription factor MYB72 in initiating ISR and the role of plant hormones and regulatory defense proteins in ISR expression in above-ground plant parts were highlighted. The environmental function of ISR-inducing microbes in the root microbiome was also discussed.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The session included scientific discussions attended by several faculty members from the department and graduate students. We wish the student success and excellence in her academic journey.<\/span><\/h3>\n
