The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of a graduation research for fourth-year students entitled “Assembly of a Self-Moving Sprinkler Irrigation System,” supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Nasir Salman Kazem and a number of students from the Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment, namely Fatima Mohammed Nuri, Zahraa Abbas Hayal, Ammar Ibrahim Mohammed, and Ruqayyah Issam Sadiq.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study aimed to use a self-moving irrigation sprinkler system to irrigate one of the gardens of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences in order to reduce water wastage, which is the main problem facing our country at present.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The system consists of a cart with four wheels driven by two 24-volt electric motors, a water sprinkler, and a movable reel to carry irrigation pipes.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The system was practically tested in one of the college gardens and proved its efficiency. Additionally, the system can be used from both sides instead of just one, besides the possibility of using it in plastic greenhouses to reduce water losses.<\/span><\/h3>\n
