To achieve the goals of sustainable development in quality education, the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, as part of the activities of the Plant Protection Department during its academic season, organized a discussion of the research plan presented by the Master’s student Zeina Ahmed Khalaf titled “A Study on the Geographic Distribution of Root-Knot Nematode Species Meloidogyne spp in Some Tomato Fields, Sensitivity of Some Varieties to Infection, and Its Control”. The discussion was supervised by Dr. Riyadh Talib Al-Khafaji, the head of the postgraduate studies department in the Plant Protection Department, Professor Dr. Radi Fadel Al-Jassani, and was attended by the department head, Assistant Professor Dr. Bushra Sabir Abdul Sada.<\/span><\/h3>\n

During the presentation, the student outlined the study objectives as follows:<\/span><\/h3>\n

  1. \n

    Identifying the distribution and population density of root-knot nematode species in tomato fields in the provinces of Baghdad, Babil, and Wasit.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    Classifying root-knot nematode species.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  3. \n

    Testing the resistance of some tomato varieties.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  4. \n

    Studying the effect of fertilizers and some pesticides in control.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The discussion included scientific debates with the participation of several faculty members in the department and postgraduate students.<\/span><\/h3>\n
