The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad has seen the defense of a master’s thesis titled “Effect of Certain Chemical and Biological Factors in Reducing Root-Knot Nematode Infection in Cucumber Plants,” by the student Haneen Khalid Abdul-Jabbar from the Plant Protection <\/span>Department<\/span>.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study aimed to find alternatives to biological and non-biological pesticides in controlling root-knot nematodes, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of ascorbic acid and di-potassium phosphate in the viability of the eggs and juveniles of root-knot nematodes.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The researcher recommended avoiding the use of chemical substances in agriculture and moving towards organic materials due to their benefits for plants and greater safety for humans. Additionally, she suggested using and adding nutrients before planting to prepare the soil adequately.<\/span><\/h3>\n
