The University of Baghdad topped the local rankings in the 2024\/2025 US News American ranking, advancing 102 places from last year’s ranking to occupy the 1297th position out of 2500 universities globally. The University of Baghdad maintained its local lead in Clinical Medicine at #810, Engineering at #536, and Chemistry at #1104. This ranking relies on Clarivate Analytics as a data source.<\/span><\/h3>\n

US News is a leading institution in providing educational analyses and rankings, focusing primarily on globally published scientific research. The ranking is based on several criteria centered on the academic success of universities, including local and global reputation, annual published research and its impact, international cooperation, awarding of doctoral degrees, printed publications, books, conferences, normalized citation impact, total number of citations as a source, international collaboration, and contributions to the most highly cited research papers.<\/span><\/h3>\n
