To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in quality education, the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a training course titled “Investing in Precision Agriculture to Achieve Sustainable Agriculture” as part of the cultural season of the Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment. The course was attended by several department faculty members and students.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The lectures were delivered by:<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Assistant Professor Dr. Saif Ahmed Rawdan, whose lecture was titled “The Concept of Precision Agriculture and Its Importance in Sustainable Agriculture.”<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n

    Lecturer Dr. Faiz Fawzi Majid, who presented on “The Application of Precision Agriculture Techniques in Agricultural Mechanization.”<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n

    Lecturer Mustafa Ahmed Jalal, who spoke on “Precision Agriculture: Enhancing Production and Environmental Sustainability.”<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The course provided a detailed explanation of the concept of precision agriculture and its main components, including variable rate technology, remote sensing, advanced data analysis, and how to utilize these technologies in various precision agricultural operations such as irrigation, harvesting, and pest control. Additionally, the course offered an overview of different precision agriculture systems aimed at leveraging data-driven decision-making to improve resource use, reduce environmental impacts, and enhance production. The speakers also discussed the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method for evaluating and improving the environmental performance of precision agriculture compared to traditional systems.<\/span><\/h3>\n
