Hawraa Muwaffaq Abdullah from Department of Animal Production successfully defended her MSc.work with the title (The Genetic Structures of the Ovocleidin-32 Gene and Their Influence on Productive Performance and Some Qualitative Egg Traits in Iraqi Chickens)
The study aimed to uncover the different genetic structures of this gene and determine the allelic frequency and genotypic percentage in Iraqi chickens. It further sought to investigate their effect on productive performance and some qualitative traits in local Iraqi chickens, as an initiative to utilize them in the genetic improvement of Iraqi poultry.
The researcher recommended the necessity for further studies to fully understand its influence on egg production, egg traits and quality, and to investigate its effect on other unstudied characteristics and disease resistance.
