As part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week organized by the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Abdulghafour Ibrahim Hamad, the head of the Desertification Combat Department, delivered a scientific lecture titled “Bio-fertilizers: A Promising Approach for Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Pollution Reduction.” This lecture was given in lieu of retired Professor Dr. Hassan Ali Abdulridha, the owner of the bio-fertilizers project. The lecture was attended by several members of the department’s faculty, as well as postgraduate and undergraduate students.
The lecture first addressed the concept of sustainable agriculture, then proceeded to define bio-fertilizers, discussing their types, classification, application methods, and their importance in preserving soil health and achieving the concept of sustainable agriculture. This is particularly crucial for eradicating hunger and enhancing food and nutritional security.
