Aminah Ali Sabea from Department of Desertification Combat successfully defended her MSc. work with the title (The Role of Agricultural Exploitation in Evaluating Lands of Different Uses for Some Desert Soil Lands in Karbala Governorate)
The thesis aimed to evaluate the study area for cultivating some grain, vegetable, and fruit crops, in addition to conducting a comprehensive analysis to achieve sustainable management of these lands through their optimal use and reliance on the obtained scientific results.
The researcher recommended encouraging the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing in managing agricultural resources. Furthermore, she recommended that the relevant agricultural authorities develop updated digital land suitability maps to be used as a guidance tool for farmers.
