The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, has achieved first place among all university psychological counseling units at the University of Baghdad. The unit was honored with a commemorative shield, the Medal of Counseling Excellence, and a Certificate of Appreciation, received by Dr. Muthanna Falhi Hammoud, Head of the Unit.
The award was presented during the scientific conference recently organized by the Center for Educational and Psychological Research at the University of Baghdad, held under the theme “Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance: A Pillar for Developing the University Personality.” The event was attended by Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, the University’s Assistant for Scientific Affairs, representing Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, along with the heads of psychological counseling units from various colleges.
The conference opened with a welcoming speech delivered by Professor Dr. Fadhel Shakir Al-Saidi, Director of the Center, followed by a speech from the Assistant for Scientific Affairs, who commended the vital role of counseling units across the university in providing psychological and educational support that fosters a healthy academic environment, enabling students to overcome challenges and build well-balanced personalities.
The conference also included a presentation of the activities and programs accomplished during the academic year 2024–2025 in the field of psychological counseling and educational guidance across university units. The top three colleges were recognized and awarded commemorative shields and medals in appreciation of their outstanding efforts — with the Psychological Counseling Unit of our College receiving the first place for its distinguished record of activities and achievements over the past year.
