The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences Organizes a Seminar on the Importance of the Food Constitution to Enhance Food Safety
The Department of Food Sciences at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, organized a seminar under the slogan “Sustainable Specifications, a Common Vision for a Better World.” This event commemorated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Food Constitution Authority.
The seminar was attended by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Osama Kazem Jabara, the department head, and several faculty members, staff, and students of the college.
The seminar covered several topics that highlighted the importance of the food constitution in enhancing food safety and the principle of effective collaboration among various sectors, whether governmental, mixed, or private. The discussion emphasized the interconnected work between participating entities and their sectors to achieve common goals.
The objectives of the seminar aimed to protect consumer health, ensure fair practices in food trade, and enhance the country’s ability to participate in international food trade.
A presentation was given by the head of the Food Specifications Division, Ms. Nagham Hameed Taher, on “Iraq’s Connection Point to the Food Constitution Authority.” Additionally, there was a lecture on “The Electronic Platform of the Codex with Practical Application.”
At the end of the seminar, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants.
