Under the directives of our esteemed university and the Deanship of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, the Department of Desertification Control conducted a scientific visit to the college site in Abu Ghraib for graduate students.
The visit aimed to enhance the practical aspects of the course on Rehabilitation of Degraded Lands. It included a scientific lecture covering the theoretical part of the course, followed by a field tour of experimental sites within the college.
The visit was supervised by the Head of the Department of Desertification Control, Asst. Prof. Dr. Afaq Ibrahim Juma, with the participation of Dr. Hussein Abbas Mohammed and Dr. Israa Hikmat Abdul.
During the visit, students observed key practical applications in land reclamation and familiarized themselves with modern scientific methods employed in this field. This experience helped bridge the gap between academic knowledge and field practice, develop students’ research skills, and enhance their scientific competence.
This activity contributes to achieving one of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 4: Quality Education.
