A delegation from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, headed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh, visited the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tabriz to attend the celebration marking the 70th anniversary of the college’s establishment and to strengthen scientific cooperation in line with the previously signed agreement between the two institutions.
The Iraqi delegation included Prof. Dr. Hussam Jassim Hussein Bananah, Head of the Department of Animal Production; Prof. Dr. Kamilia Ward Shahir from the Department of Plant Protection; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ammar Sadiq Mahdi from the Department of Field Crops.
During the visit, the delegation held several meetings with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tabriz, Dr. Hossein Noeid, and heads of academic departments. The discussions resulted in an agreement to establish clear mechanisms for activating cooperation in areas such as education, delivering specialized lectures to graduate students, joint supervision, and developing collaborative research projects between both sides.
It is worth noting that the University of Tabriz is recognized as a globally distinguished institution and holds a notable position in the US News rankings, underscoring the significance of collaborating with such a reputable academic center and enhancing opportunities for high-quality academic and research partnerships.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Hossein Noeid to mark the 70th anniversary of the college’s founding. In return, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Tabriz presented a college shield to Prof. Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh in appreciation of her participation in the anniversary celebration.
This visit highlights the depth of academic relations between the two universities and paves the way for a new phase of collaboration that supports graduate programs and promotes joint scientific activity.
