The Department of Food Science at the College of Agricultural Engineering organized an educational field visit to the National Packaging Center, under the Ministry of Industry and Minerals. The visit included graduate students enrolled in the Advanced Food Product Packaging course and was supervised by Professor Dr. Ishraq Munir Mohammed.
The visit aimed to enhance the practical component of the curriculum and familiarize students with the latest technologies in packaging materials, laboratory testing methods, and industrial practices for food product packaging.
During the visit, the center’s staff provided detailed explanations of modern packaging systems, quality assurance procedures, and methods for assessing the suitability of packaging materials for food products. Students also toured the laboratories and production units to observe workflow processes firsthand.
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal of quality education and reflects the department’s commitment to bridging academic learning with practical experience, while developing students’ skills in food industries and packaging technology.
