The Department of Food Sciences at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences – University of Baghdad organized a field visit to Al-Ouj Dairy Products Factory, with the participation of fourth-year students enrolled in the “Dairy Manufacturing Engineering I” course, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Azhar Al-Mousawi and several faculty members of the Department of Food Sciences.
The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical skills, familiarize them with production lines and the stages of dairy product manufacturing, and provide insight into laboratory testing methods, industrial practices, and quality control procedures applied at the factory.
During the visit, the factory staff provided detailed explanations of the workflow for each product, quality assurance mechanisms, and proper storage methods. Students also toured the production units and quality control laboratories to observe the processes firsthand.
This visit reflects the department’s commitment to linking academic knowledge with practical experience, developing students’ skills in food industries, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education).
The College extends its sincere thanks to all the staff at Al-Ouj Dairy Factory, especially Mr. Tarek Karim (Factory Director), Mr. Ziyad Tarek, and Mr. Issa, for their fruitful cooperation and effective contributions that greatly contributed to the success of this visit.
This activity contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
