The Department of Soil and Water Resources at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences organized a scientific visit to the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismology, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport. The visit aimed to strengthen students’ practical skills and connect academic study with technical applications in the fields of meteorology and seismic monitoring. The activity targeted second-year students from the Department of Animal Production as part of a field scientific visit to learn about the nature of the Authority’s work and its technical and operational divisions. The students were accompanied by Dr. Hadeel Amer Jabbar, faculty member in the department.

The visit included a field tour of several departments within the Authority, where specialists provided detailed explanations of the operation of weather monitoring stations, methods for measuring atmospheric elements, and the importance of meteorology in supporting key sectors such as agriculture and the environment.

This visit aligns with the College’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
