In an initiative that reflects a strong sense of social responsibility and affiliation with the college, two first-year students from the Department of Agricultural Economics, Nargis Ali Abd and Malak Mustafa Zuhair, organized a volunteer campaign to clean the college playground. The campaign aimed to maintain a clean and healthy university environment and to encourage volunteer work among students.
The students explained that the initiative sought to instill the concept of individual and collective responsibility toward public facilities, promote the values of volunteerism as part of university student culture, and provide a more attractive and safer sports and recreational space for all college students. The initiative also represented a practical application of agricultural engineering principles related to sustainability and environmental care.
The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh, expressed her pride in this initiative and honored the two students with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts.
This campaign represents a bright model of purposeful student activities that enrich the university campus and confirms that students of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences are not only builders of the agricultural and engineering future, but also protectors of the environment and active contributors to creating a better present.
This activity contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
