As part of its commitment to strengthening scientific research and academic engagement, the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad participated in the 3rd International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences (ISCAS 2025), held at the University of Karbala under the theme “The Role of Sustainable Agriculture in Addressing Climate Challenges and Enhancing Food Security.” The conference was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi; the President of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajed Ali; and the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein.
The college was represented by Prof. Dr. Iman Hameed Al-Anbari from the Department of Food Science, who participated alongside her students. The delegation presented three joint scientific research papers addressing key issues related to sustainable agriculture and food security. These papers received wide recognition and commendation from the scientific committees for their rigorous research approaches and practical applications aimed at confronting climate challenges and promoting sustainable agricultural development.
This participation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 2 (Zero Hunger and Food Security) and Goal 13 (Climate Action), through supporting applied scientific research and encouraging student engagement in developing innovative, science-based solutions that serve society and enhance the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad reaffirms its continued support for research and scientific activities, and its commitment to promoting active participation of faculty members and students in international conferences to advance academic excellence and contribute to sustainable development.
