Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Professor Dr. Ameera Mohammed Saleh, and with the direct supervision of the Head of the Animal Production Department, Professor Dr. Hussam Jasim Hussein Bananeh, the Department of Animal Production organized a specialized scientific seminar addressing the latest applications of artificial intelligence in farm animal reproduction and herd management.

The seminar was held as part of the College’s commitment to keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological advancements. It highlighted the pivotal role of smart technologies in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of animal production. Dr. Zainab Adel Mahdi delivered a detailed scientific presentation illustrating how artificial intelligence tools contribute to the analysis of reproductive data, prediction of estrus timing, optimization of artificial insemination programs, and accurate diagnosis of reproductive disorders. These advances positively impact fertility rates, reduce losses, and increase overall productivity.

The seminar also discussed the most prominent modern technologies based on AI systems and their role in supporting decision-making and improving herd management efficiency. It emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer a future option, but a practical and effective tool that bridges agricultural and veterinary sciences with advanced digital technologies.

The seminar witnessed notable engagement from faculty members, reflecting the scientific and practical importance of the topic as a qualitative step toward advancing the livestock sector and elevating the level of scientific and applied research in this field.
