The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Tools of Effective Influence and Their Use in Inspiring National Unity.” The seminar was delivered by Mr. Aqeel Al-Athari, Chairman of the Board of the European Board for Training and Leadership Development / United Kingdom. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Shaker Mahmoud, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, along with a number of faculty members, staff, and students.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness, strengthen loyalty to Iraq, and promote a spirit of cooperation, harmony, and social cohesion, in line with the National Security Strategy initiatives of the University of Baghdad. The session highlighted key factors of effective influence that enable individuals to play an active societal role, invest in self-confidence to overcome challenges, and enhance communication with others in a way that reflects the diversity of Iraq’s social fabric. Emphasis was placed on overcoming differences and building bridges of understanding and mutual respect.
The seminar concluded with recommendations stressing the importance of awareness programs in fostering meaningful engagement, participation, and constructive interaction that contribute to nation-building and transcend the causes of division by reinforcing a spirit of unity and solidarity.
This seminar aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
