The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad welcomed the members of the National Council for the Accreditation of Agricultural Colleges’ Programs, the nominees of the evaluation team, and the head of the accreditation department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This was to implement the practical part of the training course held recently under the slogan “Program Accreditation: a Guarantee for Agricultural Education Quality.” The collaboration was with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Department, the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Department, and the Accreditation Department.

The goal of the course was to qualify and enhance the capabilities of the evaluation team according to the program accreditation standards of the council. The welcoming was done by Professor Dr. Jamal Abdul Rahman Tawfiq, a member and secretary of the National Council for the Accreditation of Agricultural Colleges.

The course included assigning the evaluators to subcommittees responsible for assessing program accreditation standards and a main committee to present the final summary. The evaluation procedures were initiated for the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, as a model.

At the end of the meeting, the participating members appreciated the pivotal role of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences in hosting all events that support and develop agricultural colleges for national program accreditation.
