Shatha Hadi Mahmood Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources successfully defended her Ph.D. work with the title “Survey and Identification of Clay Minerals and Free Iron Oxides in Selected Soils of Sulaymaniyah Governorate and Their Suitability for Agricultural Utilization”
The dissertation aimed to investigate the relationship between the properties of the studied soils and their suitability for agricultural use, as well as to develop spatial maps illustrating mineral distribution using modern techniques.

The researcher recommended expanding the study to include a comparison between topographically high and low areas within Sulaymaniyah Governorate to better understand the effects of elevation and slope on the distribution of clay minerals.

Congratulations to the researcher on this achievement.
