Under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Abeer Dawood Salman, a faculty member in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, two graduation research were conducted. The first research, titled “Improving Growth and Yield of Kale by the Effect of Spraying with Environmentally Friendly Extracts under Hydroponic Farming System,” was carried out by the student Abdullah Mohammed. The aim of the research is to cultivate kale as a non-traditional crop in Iraq and enhance its growth by spraying with a solution of onion and pomegranate peels under the NFT nutrient film technique.

As for the second research, titled “Growth Response and Yield of Red Chard to Spraying with Olive and Myrtus Leaf Extracts under Sustainable Hydroponic Farming System,” conducted by the student Sarmad Mohammed, it aims to increase the yield of red chard and improve its quality by spraying with clean extracts that preserve the environment and consumer health, in order to achieve sustainable development goals under the hydroponic farming system.
