With the participation of faculty members from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, a meeting was held with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the College of Arts at the University of Baghdad. The meeting was attended by Mr. Jin Yunida, the representative of the JICA office in Iraq, from the Japanese side, and Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Amir Sajet, the Dean of the College of Arts, and several faculty members from the college, as well as faculty members from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, including Dr. Ali Mazen Abdul-Munim, Dr. Samer Badri Salman, Dr. Hussein Abbas Jaber from the Department of Machines and Equipment, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahhab Abdul-Ridha from the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources, Dr. Luay Qahtan Khleif, Dr. Mustafa Ali Athab from the Plant Protection Department, and Dr. Hamza AbdulSalam Hussein Al-Maamory from the Department of Animal Production.

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the JICA chair and discuss the possibility of faculty members, researchers, and students benefiting from it to support research and academic areas. The importance of the memorandum of understanding signed with the University of Baghdad was emphasized, aiming to achieve the exchange of experiences in the field of development and skill development. This can be achieved through lectures and short or long-term training courses offered by Japanese academics, either in Iraq or in Japan.

At the end of the meeting, our faculty members expressed their gratitude to the Dean of the College of Arts for hosting this important event. This collaboration reflects the commitment of both colleges and the University of Baghdad to achieve the goals of the United Nations in sustainable development, especially regarding Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
