A Seminar Discussed in the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences
The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, as part of the activities of the Plant Protection Department during its cultural season, organized a seminar led by the Master’s student Taghreed Adel Mohammed. The seminar was titled ‘Lipids in Insects (Energy, Nutritional Metabolism, and Regulation).’
The seminar was chaired by the head of the postgraduate studies, Professor Dr. Radi Fadel Al-Jassani.
The aim of the seminar was to understand whether lipid metabolism processes are necessary for the growth and reproduction of insects and for preparing the required energy during periods when the insect does not feed. The topic covers and focuses on energy reserves and their release, summarizing the current understanding of the mechanisms by which insects operate.
The seminar included scientific discussions attended by several faculty members in the department and postgraduate students.
We wish the student success and prosperity in her academic journey.
