The Women Empowerment Unit and the Plant Protection Department of the College of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, organized a panel discussion on the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The event was supervised and attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Amera Mohammed Saleh, and several faculty members and students.

The panel included several lectures delivered by Captain Basma Mazaal Hashem, Captain Noor Ahmed Abdul-Hussein, and First Lieutenant Huraa Faraj Ghulam. They addressed the causes and solutions of violence against women, the role of society in supporting women, and some real-life experiences in the community. Additionally, the role of the Women Empowerment Unit in the college, represented by the unit’s coordinator, Dr. Shaimaa Abdul Khaleq Al-Hamawandi, was highlighted in activating this role through educating students, embracing their ideas, and guiding them towards the right path.
