The Department of Field Crop Sciences of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a memorial ceremony in honour of the Professor Dr. Madhat Majid Al-Sahouki (may he rest in peace). The event was attended by the dean of the college, Professor Dr. Amera Mohammad Saleh, the department head, relatives of the deceased, and several faculty members of the college.

The ceremony included the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha from Quran, followed by a brief overview of the life and achievements of the deceased in speeches delivered by some attendees, recalling his honourable character, contributions, and moments. The dean of the college, in her speech, directed the department to dedicate one of the important halls in the college and name it after the professor as a tribute to his contributions to the college throughout the years as one of the international scientific figures produced by the college.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, a copy of the Holy Quran was presented as a gift to the family of the deceased, expressing gratitude and honouring from the department, and praying to the Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant him a place in His spacious gardens.
