The Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “University Curricula and Their Importance in the Formation and Development of Leadership Personality.” The workshop was conducted by Dr. Nada Shihab Ahmed, a lecturer in the department, in the presence of several faculty members and students.
The workshop included an introduction to the concept of curricula in linguistic and educational terminology, branching into traditional, comprehensive, and Islamic concepts. The lecture covered the foundations of curriculum development, its constructive aspects, and the importance of university curricula. It also addressed the role of university curricula in developing leadership personalities and their impact on the nature of leadership.
The lecture highlighted the essential aspects that university curricula should achieve regarding leadership personality, focusing on the components and the educational process related to leadership personality. Furthermore, it emphasized the significant and effective role of universities in shaping students’ personalities, considering the characteristics of the age stage of leadership personality during their university years.
The workshop aimed to discover the university’s role and to build the young personality based on future requirements in terms of knowledge, skills, and ethics. It aimed to understand the formation of youth in various scientific disciplines needed by the state and different social sectors. This is essential for rational and scientific management of various aspects of social life and the contribution to producing the elite upon which major countries rely in establishing the foundations of knowledge and progress.
