In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals in quality education, the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, as part of the activities of the Plant Protection Department during its academic season, organized a discussion session presented by Master’s student Taghreed Adel Mohammed, titled “Study on the Effect of Biological Compatibility of Essential Oils, Biofungicides, and Some Nanomaterials in Controlling the Peach Fruit Fly Bactrocera zonata on Citrus Fruits.”
Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Qasim Hussein Ahmed, the session was moderated by Dr. Radi Fadel Al-Jassani, the coordinator of postgraduate studies in the Plant Protection Department, and attended by the department’s chair, Assistant Professor Dr. Bushra Sabir Abdul Sada.
During the session, the student presented the study objectives as follows:

Achieving an environmentally safe and effective method within sustainable agriculture to control this dangerous pest, which causes economic damage, through evaluating some elements of biological control, essential oils, their compatibility, and nano-formulated compounds bioassisted with pathogenic fungi in reducing insect damage on citrus fruits.
