To achieve the goals of sustainable development in good education, the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences/University of Baghdad organized a scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Genetic Fingerprinting Laboratory – Date Palm Research Unit – and the Agricultural Molecular Biology Laboratory for the Department of Animal Production.
This was part of the requirements of the Biotechnology course under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Lamiaa Khalifa Jawad for the theoretical part, and Ms. Mariam Sami Elias and Ms. Nora Jabr for the practical part. The students were briefed on the operation of the Thermocycler thermal recycling device and the Electrophoresis technique, both horizontal and vertical, and how to read the resulting bands from electrophoresis.
