In the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, the defense of the doctoral dissertation entitled “The Effect of Adding Different Levels of Kojic Acid and Sodium Alginates as Alternatives to Traditional Antibiotics on the Characteristics of Frozen Preserved Buffalo Semen” was conducted by the student Zainab Adel Mahdi from the Department of Animal Production. The study aimed to assess the impact of adding certain natural compounds as alternatives to traditional antibiotics, reducing contamination during the handling and preservation of semen, and mitigating the negative effects of synthetic antibiotics by using natural bacterial antagonists. The researcher recommended storing semen supplemented with antibiotic alternatives for longer periods exceeding three months and conducting further modern tests related to the bacterial aspect, such as polymerase chain reaction testing for bacterial genetic material.

Congratulations to the researcher and best wishes for continued success.
