Titanium Fibers and Their Application in Meat Preservation
The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad witnessed the defence of a master’s thesis entitled “Preparation of Membranes from Composite Nano Titanium Dioxide Fibers by Electro-spinning and Their Application in Meat Preservation” by the student Mais Mohammed Tayeh from the Department of Food Sciences.
The thesis aimed to prepare TiO2 nanoparticles using the sol-gel method and to characterize TiO2 nanoparticles using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet spectroscopy. It also involved the preparation of TiO2NF membranes and the study of their mechanical properties.
The researcher recommended using other techniques for the preparation of TiO2 nanoparticles and studying the blending of polymers other than PVP with TiO2 nanoparticles, as well as examining their inhibitory effectiveness and using other materials besides CMC for membrane preparation.
