Defending a PhD Dissertation about Per-Fluorinated Materials at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences
At the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, a PhD dissertation defense took place for the dissertation titled “Migration of Per-Fluorinated Compounds from Packaging Materials in Contact with Certain Foods to the Food,” by the student Huda Farouk Abbas from the Department of Food Sciences.
The study aimed to conduct a field survey to identify the presence of per-fluorinated compounds in local packaging materials, as well as to study the composition of foods and the physical and microscopic properties of the paper and packaging boxes under investigation.
The researcher recommended studying the migration of these compounds into basic foods and the impact of migration processes on them, as well as finding environmentally and health-friendly alternatives to per-fluorinated compounds.
Congratulations to the researcher, and best wishes for continued success.
