In the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, a defense of the master’s thesis titled “Economic Analysis of the Role of Green Economy in Sustainable Agricultural Development in Iraq for the Period (2008-2022)” was conducted by student Leena Kazem Safi from the Department of Agricultural Economics. The study aimed to compare the transition towards various aspects of the green economy in Iraq and highlight the main challenges, in addition to calculating the carbon footprint of some key crops in Iraq. The researcher recommended emphasizing the adoption of certain measures that could reduce CO2 and other gas emissions through what is known as green taxes on sources of these emissions and increasing environmental allocations due to their significant impact on pollution reduction.

Congratulations to the researcher on this success.
