The University of Baghdad secured the first place locally among 45 other competing Iraqi universities in the Round University Ranking (RUR) international university classification. The RUR ranking evaluates universities worldwide based on 20 indicators in four main areas: teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability.

The ranking results showed that the University of Baghdad advanced to 668th place compared to 768th place in 2023, thus moving up 100 places overall among its peer universities. The ranking also included advances in various areas: teaching improved by 70 places, research by 129 places, international relations by 70 places, and financial sustainability by 59 places.

This achievement is part of the University of Baghdad’s plan to enhance its standing in international rankings, focusing this year on achieving systematically planned results and monitoring their implementation daily.
