The University of Baghdad Celebrates Iraqi Engineer’s Day
Baghdad University hosted the Iraqi Engineer’s Day celebration, attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the President of Baghdad University, Professor Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, the Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, Professor Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, as well as university presidents who are engineers, and directors of construction departments in university institutions.
The celebration included a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in which he appreciated the roles of this group, which now plays a vital role in meeting architectural requirements, leading the construction of infrastructure, and striving to innovate technological, industrial, and technical solutions. He emphasized that the ministry is making diligent efforts to develop, update, and grow the engineering education environment and to keep pace with contemporary scientific developments. The ministry also supports research in engineering fields to enhance the output of these sectors to meet labor market demands and to adapt and diversify the capacity of universities and colleges in line with prestigious global forums.
Before concluding the celebration, Al-Aboudi honored university engineers with the Creativity Shield in appreciation of their efforts over years of university service.
