Assistant Professor Dr. Munim Khamees Mukhlif, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, participated in a discussion of a doctoral dissertation titled “Water Crisis in the National Security Strategy of Downstream Countries: A Comparative Study of Egypt and Iraq.” This took place at the College of Political Science, University of Al-Nahrain. The thesis addressed the issue of water crisis, water security, its challenges, international legal frameworks under non-navigational uses of watercourses law, and the water security strategy for upstream countries like Turkey and Ethiopia. It also examined the current status and indicators of the water crisis and its repercussions on Iraq and Egypt, as well as the two countries’ approaches and future prospects.
