In the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, Hassan Hadi Hameed successfully defended his master’s thesis titled “Ecological Studies of the Predator Exochomus spp. on the Flour Beetle and Various Prey on Citrus and Other Plant Families” from the Department of Plant Protection. The study aimed to identify species belonging to this genus, determine their seasonal presence on various plant families, and utilize them in biological control against piercing-sucking insects on different plant families for sustainable agriculture purposes.

The researcher recommended:

  1. Conducting further research and studies on the mass rearing and propagation of the predator Exochomus nigromculatus using both industrial and non-industrial environments.

  2. Performing additional experiments and studies regarding the population density of the predator on other plant families to enhance and increase its numbers.

  3. Avoiding pesticide spraying in fields and orchards during peak times of presence of the predator Exochomus nigromculatus.

Congratulations to the student on this achievement!
