A Workshop on the Scourge of Drugs Organized by the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad, organized a workshop on the scourge of drugs and their impact on society.

The workshop included two lectures: the first was titled “Datura and Drugs” and was delivered by Professor Dr. Jalal Hameed Hamza Al-Jubouri, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, who provided an introduction to the Datura plant. The second lecture, titled “The Law on Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances,” was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Muneim Khamis Makhlaf Al-Hitawi, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the law.

The workshop aimed to disseminate knowledge, protect the audience, and familiarize them with the appearance and growth stages of the plant. It also aimed to address the causes, effects, types, and challenges of drugs, and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the drug control law.
