A Seminar Organized by College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences
In the context of the seminars in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, Dr. Salah Hassan Jabbar presented a lecture on the impact of the timing of spraying with gibberellic acid and boron on certain qualitative and physical characteristics of the date palm (Khadrawi variety). The lecture aimed to study the effect of spraying with gibberellic acid and boron, as well as their interaction, in enhancing the qualitative characteristics of the fruits, increasing productivity, and determining the optimal stage of fruit development for conducting treatments (flowering stage, berry stage, and ripening stage) and their impact on the physical characteristics. The results showed that variations in timing and the treatments used had a positive effect on reducing fruit drop and increasing fruit set, as well as improving the qualitative characteristics and yield of Khadrawi date palms.
