A scientific lecture was by delivered by Professor Dr. Sajida Mahdi Eidan from the Department of Animal Production at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad. The lecture explained the concept of gender between scientific facts and myths. The lecture delivered in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Amera Mohammed Saleh, and the Head of the Department, Professor Dr. Hussam Jasim Hussein, along with several faculty members and students of the college.
In the lecture, the concept of gender was explained, which the society assigns to males and females, including everything they do, their ways of existence, thinking, and behaviour, which contribute to shaping the society and its culture (influence of the surrounding environment). Consequently, it is subject to change depending on the circumstances of that society, natural biological differences between males and females, global challenges, increased population growth rate, and reproductive efficiency (fertility) in food-producing animals. It also aimed to raise awareness among humans about the importance of reproductive functions for all species.
