The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a discussion seminar as part of the activities of the Plant Protection Department during its 2024-2025 cultural season. The seminar was submitted by agricultural engineer Haidar Alaa Ibrahim, a member of the American Association of Pest Control Operators and the National Pest Management Association, as well as a certified trainer and lecturer with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Georgia.

The seminar, titled “The Life Cycle of Termites and Methods for Their Control,”  was moderated by Professor Dr. Radi Fadl Al-Jassani, head of the graduate studies program, and attended by several faculty members as well as undergraduate and graduate students. The students learned about the engineer’s success story through his presentation.

The seminar aimed to shed light on methods for controlling termites, ways to limit their spread, and the use of modern control tools, including soil baits, with a focus on protecting homes and facilities from the damage they cause in the United States.
