The Career Development and Employment Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Aghsan Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development, organized the Innovation Camp for Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Green Skills for its students. The camp took place in the gardens of Al-Zawraa Park under the direct supervision of the college dean, Professor Dr. Amira Mohammed Saleh, and was attended by heads of scientific departments, college members, retired professors who have made notable contributions to the educational process, as well as students of the college.

Dr. Amira addressed the attendees, highlighting the immense challenges faced by young people that require them to be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to confront them. She emphasized the significant gap in green skills, which hampers sustainable development efforts. Youth, representing a large segment of society, often find themselves in a challenging position due to a lack of environmental awareness and green skills, crucial for addressing climate change and environmental degradation. Dr. Amira expressed her hope for this segment to succeed in their future projects, emphasizing the vital role of the university community in developing and grounding these skills in real-life student projects.

Professor Dr. Khaled Naji Abd, Chairman of the Al-Aghsan Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development, also delivered a speech, providing a detailed overview of the foundation’s work and support for projects. He explained the mechanisms for project implementation support, including project loans and execution assistance.

As part of the camp activities, a delegation from the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences visited the Parks and Afforestation Department, led by its General Manager, Mr. Mohammed Khalaf Lafta. An agreement was reached to exchange expertise and capabilities, enhancing joint cooperation between the college and state institutions to support students in their research and alleviate any obstacles they may encounter in their academic journey.

We extend our best wishes to those behind this initiative for continued contributions in service of the college and its rich legacy.
