The Career Development and Employment Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Innovation Camp for Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Green Skills,” attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Amira Muhammad, along with college guests, students, faculty, and staff members.
The workshop, led by experts in the field of entrepreneurship, aimed to provide opportunities for agricultural students by creating a graduate database and offering financial loans and support to those participating in the camp. Dr. Hussein Falamarz, Advisor to the Prime Minister, noted in his speech that the camp includes a comprehensive training program designed to enhance students’ entrepreneurial skills and develop their abilities in various fields, particularly agriculture.
Mr. Sadiq Jaafar Al-Mahmoudawi, President of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, added that such camps can generate sustainable and impactful solutions to societal challenges faced by students, working diligently to unleash creative ideas where business models are refined and ideas meet.
Following his remarks, Ms. Abeer Ali Jassim, Director of the International Organizations Department, emphasized the availability of support and facilitation for all applicants. Ms. Huda Qasim Khazaal, Head of the Graduate Support Division, discussed the challenges facing graduates and the means of addressing and resolving them.
Dr. Khalid Naji Al-Asal, Chairman of the Board of the Branches Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development, presented a detailed explanation of the initiative to support entrepreneurship projects and the loan provision mechanism.
At the close of the workshop, Dean Professor Amira Muhammad Saleh emphasized the importance of collaboration to clarify and establish the concept of entrepreneurship, fostering and refining skills to nurture an aware generation capable of owning their own businesses.
