The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad participated in the graduation ceremony for the 67th cohort, titled “Science and Construction.” The event was attended by the esteemed Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Naim Al-Aboudi, the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Baha Ibrahim Insaf, deans of various colleges, faculty members, graduating students, their families, and a large number of guests.
In his speech during the ceremony, Minister Naim Al-Aboudi emphasized the importance of working through integrated phases in professional development and enhancing the research environment in academic institutions. He highlighted that the graduation of this distinguished group of students carries an additional responsibility for everyone to uphold the academic reputation of this prestigious institution, where scholars, faculty, researchers, and students have devoted decades to work, commitment, and scientific innovation.
The Minister further explained that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is working on comprehensive phases in professional development and enhancing the research environment to provide the necessary momentum for universities, their colleges, branches, departments, and centers in the fields of scientific contributions, research production, and achieving positive results in global rankings and databases.
The ceremony included a speech from the President of the University, Professor Baha Ibrahim Insaf, who reviewed the scientific achievements of the University of Baghdad and its colleges in terms of scientific publishing and global rankings. The event also featured the recitation of the university oath and the formal awarding of degrees to the graduates.
Minister Naim Al-Aboudi concluded the graduation ceremony by honoring the top students and reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting graduates who have equipped themselves with knowledge and are now on the verge of entering the workforce and taking on responsibilities.
Additionally, student Zahra Ali Saheb from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering was honored as the top student of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences for the academic year 2023-2024, with a score of 88.28. The college dean, Professor Amira Mohammed Saleh, was present to wish her continued success in her academic and professional journey.
