A workshop on fish transportation was held in the Animal Production Department.
In line with the goals of sustainable development for quality education, and in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences, the Animal Production Department organized a workshop titled “Transporting Live Fish.” The event was attended by the Head of the Animal Production Department, Professor Hussam Jassim Hussein Benanah, along with several faculty members and graduate students from the department.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Osama Al-Bayati, a faculty member in the Animal Production Department and an international trainer, who is a graduate of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of fish transportation and its significant role in the production chain, as well as to introduce the methods used to reduce stress associated with fish during the transportation process.
The workshop recommended the necessity of following correct scientific methods during fish transportation, as well as using modern and environmentally friendly transport means to enhance sustainability.
