The College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad hosted the defense of a Master’s thesis titled **”Requirements for Extension Services to Enhance the Competitiveness of Local Agricultural Products (Vegetables) in Baghdad Governorate”** by **Abeer Ali Abdullah** from the Department of Agricultural Extension and Technology Transfer.

The study aimed to identify the challenges faced by extension service providers in enhancing the competitiveness of local agricultural products, particularly vegetables, and to determine the requirements for these services in Baghdad Governorate.

The researcher recommended providing vegetable farmers with extension information and recommendations related to harvest timing, handling, sorting, grading, packing, and shipping to markets in order to reduce losses, increase production efficiency, and prevent waste. Additionally, the study emphasized building the capacity of agricultural extension service providers and enhancing their knowledge and skills through effective communication with experts.
